As much as Apple gets under my skin... They get it !!! Elegance in your devices is the single most important characteristic. It trumps a laudry list of features everytime.
Yesterday i came accross this new Tablet manufacturer and was blow away at their attention to the 'experience' . Check them out .
People forget that there are real people trying to earn a living writing software. The expectation that everything must be free really de-values our industry. My dentist or Doctor would never consider giving away their Services… So the cost of free to the consumer sometimes comes at the expense of a little advertising….
Phew glad I got that off my chest… Having said all that. I do think this spoof is pretty funny !

As a software developer myself, I’m continuously astonished at how the general public seems to think ‘everything’ Apple does is without reproach. It seems that they get away with huge gaps in their software that people are willing to overlook, but if Microsoft, Google or Oracle had released the same thing, people would be up in arms.
This week Apple release a new version of Final Cut pro which obviously missed the mark.

It was so bad in fact that Apple mysteriously had a problem with its rating system and all the bad comments about the software disappeared from the AppStore. Strangely enough, this only affected Final Cut Pro.

I’m glad that some folks are willi! ng to shine some light on Apple’s failure here.
It’s not like this is a big deal or anything, but I think the Honeymoon may be over for a lot of facebook fans. Although I see the value of social media tools like Facebook and twitter, I do believe that people have been miss-using ( or overusing) them and have ruined the experience for the rest of us. I honestly don’t care where you are at every moment of the day and I truthfully don’t care what you are eating… Unless it is the best ‘whatever’ you ever ate… (and please don’t ‘best whatever’ me every day).

! Lastly, I know your kids are awesome, I do think the little buggers can be endearing from time to time…. But surely you can find a few other interesting things to chat & take pics of now and again… Remember, when I’m sitting on the can and checking my friends status updates and facebook walls… I don’t want to see pics of your kids… that makes me feel really creepy..
I’ve been waiting for years for spotify to work through the legal red tape and give the US a viable alternative to iTunes… Looks like the folks at spotify are about to do it… Hopefully it won’t be too late.
